Khao Yai National Park
Situated in Nakhon Ratchasima Province and established in 1962, Khao Yai is the third largest national park in Thailand. The park is spread across 2, 168 sq kilometres, including evergreen rain forest and grasslands. It also includes 1,351m high Khao Rao Mountain. From Khao Yai to Cambodian border, it covers 5 protected areas and is declared as a World heritage site by UNESCO. The park has Thailand’s largest population of hornbills along with common mammals like elephants, bears, gaurs, deers, otters, gibbons and macaques.
